Selwyn Property Law was founded by lawyer/director Craig Wakelin in 2018. Craig has handled hundreds of property transactions across a number of years working in both the Selwyn and Ashburton districts.

Craig enjoys working with people to achieve the outcomes they aim for and prides himself on the unpretentious pragmatism and integrity which makes him very easy to deal with.

Craig has real-world experience and practicality. He and his father-in-law designed and built the Selwyn Property Law office from scratch in late 2018.

Craig is proud to have founded his own firm and excited to be back working in the Selwyn district where he has lived for the last thirty years. He brings his knowledge of the area and its people to his work.

Despite being a lawyer, Craig has a life outside work. Amongst other things, he:

  • travels extensively within New Zealand with his partner;

  • enjoys live music;

  • reads obscure books;

  • despises over-cooked steak and burnt coffee;

  • knows his wines;

  • engages in dinner-table disagreements with family members; &

  • sometimes walks his dog.
